Basketball

After moving back to the US my tastes in sport evolved from rugby and soccer to basketball. I began playing in middle school and during the Covid lockdown found myself in front of a hoop more often than not. Before long I decided to push myself to try out for an Amatuer Athletics Union (AAU) team. AAU has taught me more than just basketball. It taught me how to adapt to my surroundings and to work for what I want.

With AAU basketball sparking my love for the game, I now wanted to play for my school. Doing so improved my adaptability, learning how to fit into different teams and how I could adjust my role to help the team as much as possible. Playing for my school also gave me the opportunity to gain a deeper relationship with my classmates by working together to achieve the same goal.

Soccer

I fell in love with soccer at the age of four in Shanghai. After moving to Singapore, soccer became my life as I would play at school and then for hours with the kids near my home. Coming to the US, I continued to play into my high school years.
